MaidSafeCoin Wallet
OmniCore is the reference wallet for MaidSafeCoin (MAID). Send, receive, and recover your MAID tokens directly on the Bitcoin blockchain — no third-party custody, no bridges.
What is MaidSafeCoin?
MaidSafeCoin (MAID) is an Omni Layer token issued during the MaidSafe crowdsale on 22 April 2014, raising over $7 million in 5 hours. It was the largest token sale of its time. Each MAID represents a future claim on Safecoin, the native utility token of the SAFE Network.
Because MaidSafeCoin is built on the Omni Layer protocol, it inherits Bitcoin's security model. Every MAID transaction is settled on the Bitcoin blockchain, verified by the same proof-of-work that secures BTC itself — and tradeable on OmniDEX.
Total supply: 452,552,412 MAID. Issued by the Exodus address. Property ID: #3 on Omni Layer. Need to recover other tokens? See the general Omni token recovery guide.

How to recover MaidSafeCoin in 5 steps
- 1
Install OmniCore v0.13.0
Download for Windows, macOS, or Linux from the official download page. Verify the SHA-256 checksum before running the installer.
- 2
Sync the Bitcoin blockchain
OmniCore is a full node — it requires the complete Bitcoin chain (~600 GB in 2026). Initial block download takes 24–72 hours depending on hardware.
- 3
Import your old Bitcoin private key
Use the importprivkey RPC command with the WIF private key that originally received your MAID. Wait for rescan to complete.
- 4
Query your MAID balance
Run omni_getbalance "your_address" 3 in the OmniCore console. Property ID 3 is MaidSafeCoin.
- 5
Send or hold
Use omni_send to transfer MAID to another Bitcoin address, or hold it in your fully-controlled OmniCore wallet.
Important security notice
Never share your Bitcoin private keys with anyone claiming to "recover" your MaidSafeCoin. There is no support team that needs your seed phrase. OmniCore is self-custody software — you alone control your keys, and you alone are responsible for backups.
Frequently asked questions
What is MaidSafeCoin?
MaidSafeCoin (MAID) is an Omni Layer token issued in April 2014 to fund development of the SAFE Network. It is a Bitcoin-secured token with property ID #3 on the Omni Layer protocol. Each MAID is intended to be exchangeable for Safecoin once the SAFE Network launches.
Which wallet supports MaidSafeCoin?
OmniCore v0.13.0 is the reference Omni Layer wallet and supports MaidSafeCoin natively, including send, receive, and balance queries. Because MAID lives on Bitcoin, you only need a Bitcoin address managed by OmniCore — no separate MAID address is required.
How do I recover MaidSafeCoin from an old wallet?
Import the original Bitcoin private key (the one that controlled your MAID balance) into OmniCore, wait for the chain to sync, then run the omni_getbalance command against your address. The MAID balance will appear as property ID #3.
Is MaidSafeCoin still active in 2026?
Yes. MaidSafeCoin tokens still exist on the Bitcoin blockchain via Omni Layer and remain transferable. The SAFE Network roadmap continues independently. The tokens themselves are unaffected by Tether's 2025 departure from Omni.
Can I trade MaidSafeCoin on OmniDEX?
Yes. OmniDEX (built into OmniCore) supports trustless on-chain trading of any Omni Layer token, including MaidSafeCoin, against BTC. No third-party exchange required.
