What is the Omni Layer?
Omni Layer is a meta-protocol that uses Bitcoin transactions (OP_RETURN) to encode token operations. The relationship between Omni and Bitcoin is similar to HTTP running on TCP/IP: Bitcoin provides the secure transport layer, Omni provides the token application logic. USDT (Tether) was originally launched on Omni Layer in 2014.
Why use OmniCore?
OmniCore is the only full reference implementation maintained by the Omni Foundation. It is open-source (MIT), runs a complete Bitcoin node, and is the canonical way to interact with Omni Layer tokens, the OmniDEX, and historical USDT-Omni balances.
